Dumbest thing that happened to me was about 3 years ago (i think) and was not actually my fault lol

I was in Guild called Siege Turtles. At the time I had left my pc afk and my nepthew thought it would be real great fun to chit chat in alliance chat flaming everyone and everything. I had to leave and all from Siege Turtles and couple of other Guilds like Lore School who was in alliance at the time now hate me. Baring a few close friends who would actually listen to my story and still play with us now. .

Let that be a lesson to all. never leave your pc un-guarded

Yesterday I was doing Destruction's Depths. It was much more difficult than it should have been, and I couldn't figure out why. It was only after that I noticed that somewhere along the line I had set Gwen to Passive instead of Defensive. She had literally been doing nothing the entire time.

I think I felt most stupid when I merched my Gothic Dual Axe. I worked really hard on it, was so glad I got one. Then I was going to the merch and didn't have my axe as current weapon. I thought double clicking would make it my main weapon, yet I was still in the merchant window. Bye bye axe

Almost too embarrassed to even post this but, I totally forgot that Snowball Dominance rewards 500g. I've been farming all week on the same toon and not noticing that my gold was maxed at like 99k+. Probably missed out on a solid 50k or so...

My spin on the classic Cap-Sig moments:

Heading out into a zone, fighting all the way to the target boss, having forgotten to even PURCHASE the cap-sig -.-

thought about this, then I remembered WHY I always check my new armor pieces and my old ones before I salvage them----back when, I had just gotten the 1k version of armor for whichever toon, and usually I swap them out and then salvage the old one, well a wee bit o'lag and I salvaged the new one instead---good thing it was only 1k armor, would have been really upset if it had been 15k (though I think I would have noticed the different icon at that point).

Deleting my old lvl 20 characters after being convinced that I won't be able to take my characters with me when factions get released.

My hubby and I would swap stacked items back and forth to break them up not knowing that the SHIFT key did it for me

This is pretty epic stupid, but I wasn't fully aware of how epic stupid until recently: Back when I first started playing, I was convinced I would never play a monk or mesmer in PvE. I was also convinced that Zaishen keys were worthless. And GWAMM/Skill Hunter wasn't even on my radar. So, for any potential monk or mesmer heroes, and any low-end PvP characters, I used all the Balthazar faction I earned to unlock every single monk and mesmer skill. It made sense to me at the time -- Zaishen drops are worth about 300g to a merchant; unlocking a skill in PvE costs 1 plat.
But now that I have a monk and a mesmer, and as I'm capping skills on an aspiring GWAMM, and I'm working to get 200 Z-keys for my HoM, I think about all that wasted faction and it makes me feel kind of sick.

That's ok, I spent (somewhat recent) time earning faction to unlock skills for almost every profession, and then remembered that there are these things called hero skill trainers. Yep, still sitting on a lot of unused points on many characters, and no skills left to unlock. Not as bad, but still

Back when the Scavengers Of Ascalon Axe was happening I supported and defended arenanets descision regarding it because I didn't realize what a rotten organization they were.
